The Mukhymantri Harit Krishi Sanyantra Yojana pertains to the procurement of quality agri-implements through GeM Portal while ensuring cost efficiency and operational transparency. The Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) were enabled to enter into transactions on GeM. The state has had agri-implements banks or custom hiring centers even before but they were mainly being operated by individual entrepreneurs. It is the first instance of cooperative societies managing agri-implements banks with the result that small and marginal farmers and sharecroppers are likely to benefit much more than it would have been otherwise possible. This will provide access to small and marginal farmers to modern agricultural technologies. Also, the adoption of environment-friendly agricultural technologies will help deal with the problem of stubble burning. The project seeks to cover all farmers including the small and marginal farmers.
