Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) has been set up in Thane Municipal Corporation to provide updates and alerts to citizens and key agencies for event planning, crowd monitoring and disaster response. ICCC is envisaged as a centralised Integrated Data Centre and Command & Control Room, which can be used for all the citizen-centric services/processes including their safety, protection and policing. The key outcomes of the project have been the improvement of incident management, aid in effective decision making and reduction in criminal activities which is achieved through effective implementation and monitoring and evaluation. project, Thane Smart City Ltd can monitor traffic movement, control the smart street lighting system and maintain bird’s eye surveillance of the city. This centre is collecting functional information of all the departments and the public on a real-time basis and helps all the departments in maintaining civic service delivery standards on a day-to-day basis making sure that the city achieves improved incident management, effective decision making and reduction in criminal activities.
Intelligent Transport System of Thane Municipal Transport Undertaking fleet of buses is an innovative and transformational initiative taken by TMC and TMTU to introduce transparent citizen-friendly services that enhances citizens’ experience in using TMTU bus services and encourages them to avail this form of public transport, thereby impacting positively on the carbon footprint and traffic congestion issues in and around Thane. Real-time monitoring of all routes and buses is possible for TMTU through the Central Control Centre. Its modules include an alert management system for an immediate response from the depot team; Vehicle Health Monitoring and Diagnostics (VHMD) to plan maintenance of its buses; and, route management to reduce the wait time at the bus stops. Daily four lakh commuters’ avail of the bus service of TMTU that generates a daily revenue of approximately Rs 42 lakh from ticket sales.
DigiThane, the digital ecosystem of Thane is a platform to provide G2C, B2C and C2C services to the citizens of Thane. It has registered more than 2.7 lakh households, helping them interact with the Municipality. More than 5.6 crore interactions have taken place, availing Municipal Services and making payments online, taking part in governance through digital surveys, providing alerts regarding water, traffic, disaster, etc. Approximately 56% of the city population is onboarded to DigiThane.
